DARE PRIMARY PROGRAMME LESSONS - General Notes

• The guide times for each activity are only a guide time. Generally DARE Officers have found many of the activities have required more time, particularly the activities that involve discussion

• Teachers or DARE Officers may wish to spend more time on activities that are  relevant to the class

• There are additional notes at the end of some lessons which provide additional information for teachers and DARE Officers

• For teachers within Nottinghamshire the U and S policy www.nottscountydaat.co.uk  provides an analysis of substance use and attitudes towards substance use of young people in each district, which you may wish to incorporate into your lessons. Key findings in sections 8.3.6, 8.4.5, 8.5.5, 8.6.5, 9.5 and section 12 may be of particular interest.
